Can you not honestly tell me that, if after my described plex encounter, our fleet made a total of 75 mil from that one major plex, that the participants on both sides would be motivated to come back again.... and again.... and well you get the idea.
We have noticed a fall off of operational Galenete Fac war small gang fleets, in VV, Placid and Black Rise as of the last 6 weeks and let's face it this sucks and makes our hard work and investment into the game seem a waste.
Imagine if you will how the Militia rosters would fill if we had these payouts:
Flipping a system:
ONgoing 100k per day isk payout per pilot on the Bunker kill mail while the system is within your factions sov. (with this amount being scaled back due to state of contention for that system).
Taking out Plexes:
Minor 10 mil. Med 50 mil. Major 100 mil. Unrestricted 250 mil.
Requirements for plex capture being: running timer down. killing all rats.
Total plex payout to be divided by all militia within the plex at the time of dropping and within a fleet. No solo nija action here.
Bounties auto placed upon militia via the rank and activity, ie plex taking and kill mail.
Now we may haggle over the amounts, but hands up boys, would Eve Players rather mindlessly rat for isk, or Jump into a fun small gang and get envolved with the war and all the cool spontaneous plexing ops that would naturally evolved out of players drive to make isk??
The answer is obvious given the motivation the isk incomes that mining, trading, missioning, ratting, and moon mining generates with in Eve.
ALL of these activities take time, commitment and expertise, why on earth would CPP NOT reward the Hard fighting Fac war pilots?

While I think FW needs tweaking I don't think it should be profitable or be about isk rewards. The reward for enlisting in FW is the PvP. The plexes are arenas put there to make it easier to get a fight not mission dungeons.
Making PvP profitable goes against one of the core mechanics of eve- Permanant loss and having to grind to replace your loss. There are a multitude of ways to earn isk in this game and your proposal to boost FW by giving payouts greater than lvl4 missions is terrible. Sure, it would bring more people into FW but that doesn't mean it's good for the game as a whole.
If you need isk run a mission, rat, trade, mine etc. If you want pvp go to black rise. |
